During your initial conversation with a member of our team, we will discuss your credit and financial goals, establish expectations for the homebuying process, and discuss your financing options.

Begin the application process.

When you fill out our easy-to-use application, we will gather as much information as possible upfront so that we have everything we need to make the process as simple as possible moving forward.

We will need a few things from you.

Our team will need to gather your documents as quickly as possible to ensure that our timeline stays on track. We will work with you to collect items such as W2s, pay stubs, bank statements, employment history, and more.

Let's check out the house.

We team up with an industry leading appraisal management company that helps us keep the ball rolling. We maintain a high standard for who we partner with so that we can streamline what is often an extremely time-consuming step.

We do the hard work first.

Movement Mortgage underwrites every loan at the beginning of the process. This gives our buyers an advantage in a competitive market, allows the loan process to move faster, and prevents any last-minute rushing. Our underwriters aim to have loan files released within six hours.

Congratulations!

Once your loan has made it through the initial stages of the process, you will receive a conditional approval!

A goal-oriented process.

Our process is goal oriented rather than focused on a deadline. Most lenders attempt to just work towards a closing date or deadline. This often leads to problems and rushing around hours before closing or even missing the closing date. At Movement we do things differently. By working to a seven-day goal*, we can have closing documents out weeks before closing and avoid all the last-minute craziness. This process is unique to Movement Mortgage, and we process over 75% of our loans in seven business days or less*.


*While it is Movement Mortgage’s goal to provide underwriting results within six hours of receiving an application, process loans in seven days, and close in one day, extenuating circumstances may cause delays outside of this window. 

We are almost there!

During the final underwrite, our underwriters will review your loan file and ensure that all conditions have been met. Once this is completed, the loan will be ready to close!

You did it!

We will work with the closing attorney to gather final paperwork and confirm total funds needed to close. Everything we do on the front-end of the process helps to ensure that the closing is a smooth and exciting experience for our buyers. Time to receive your keys!

Homebuyer Checklist

When you get ready to purchase a home, you will need to have some important documents prepared.

Below is a list of some of the items you will need.

Two years of tax returns & W-2s

Copy of Earnest Money Check and Purchase Contract

If self-employed, 1099s and copy of business returns

Most recent bank statements (all accounts and all pages)

Most recent pay stubs (minimum of 30 days)

Copy of driver's license

Explanation (signed and dated) of any inquiries on credit report

Divorce Decree and Separation Agreement (if applicable)


Explanation (signed and dated) of any deposits over $1,000 -other than normal pay into accounts

Mortgage Statement, Insurance Declaration Page, and most recent tax statement for all other properties owned



Best Practices of Homebuying

    2. Maintain your employment at your current job
    3. Pay off collections, judgments, or tax liens reported within one year
    4. Stay current on your existing accounts 
    5. Call us! We are here to help you throughout the home buying process

  • DON'T

    1. Apply for new credit of any kind
    2. Max out or overcharge existing credit cards
    3. Consolidate debt to one or two cards
    4. Make any large purchases
    5. Make any large deposits into any of your accounts
